Hello everybody and happy Monday!

I am now settled in back home ready to enjoy a nice long and well deserved break from university. However life does not stop for anybody and I always like to find ways to fill my spare time. So in this blog I would like to share with you all what I will be getting up to during my visit back home and how I am managing my time.

I am giving myself from now until after christmas to spend time with my family and catch up on work before going out to visit friends as I will be working full time and studying for my full time and part time courses and I like to keep on top of things.

I have managed to get myself a christmas temporary job working between 25-45 hours per week which will take up a large chunk of my time. For the first time in my life I have been too busy working and studying to get myself back down the gym. To be honest, it has only been three days but it is usually at the top of my list when I arrive home!

This christmas I will be mixing up my training programme so my body does not get used to what I am doing and continues to grow and develop. My aim this christmas is to include more cardio and HIIT into my fitness plan and focus my weight training on strength and getting my weights up.

I have also recently been enrolled on a part time personal training course with David Lloyd gym and with continuous online coursework modules and 11 exams, I will most definitely be busy over the holidays!

Last but not least I will also be revising for my marketing exam towards the beginning of January and searching for jobs within the marketing sector. Marketing is my favourite part of my degree and I find it super interesting. I also find it fun to constantly look at jobs and see what they require in terms of skills and experience.

My daily routine over christmas consists of going to work, going to the gym and coming home to work on both my personal training coursework and my degree. With extremely busy and long days it is so important to unwind and that is why this blog is a double-whammy! It is all well and good me telling you all how busy my life is but without the tips on how I unwind and manage so much work, it can be somewhat pointless.

There are several things I like to do to unwind after a long day as listed below.

  1. Get into my pyjamas. To completely relax I find that getting into comfy clothing and sitting on the sofa watching the TV is one way to do 'nothing' and let my body rest after a busy day.
  2. Make a cup of green tea. Green tea is a perfect healthy alternative to other hot beverages and luckily I am obsessed with it. It also has a number of benefits that help cleanse your body, increase fat burning, improve physical performance and it contains bioactive compounds that improve health. So I definitely recommend trying out some different flavours to test which ones you enjoy. My two favourites are pineapple and cranberry.
  3. Take off my makeup. I do not often wear makeup as I spend a lot of my days studying and working from home or at the gym. I like to keep my face fresh and clean, however when I do wear makeup, taking it off is my favourite part of the day. I use Garnier micellar water to take off my makeup, Lush facial cleanser, Simple toner and the body shop tea tree oil to finish.
  4. Read a book. I have never gone a period of my life without reading and it is the best form of escapism. I love to lie down with my book all cuddled up before bed to clear my mind and do something for me.
