Hello everybody and a very big welcome to 2017! The new year is here and this week I want to share with you the most important life lessons I have learnt in 2016 that I will be taking through to 2017 ready for another amazing year! Have a read below of my top five life lessons and subscribe if you enjoy it.
Those who don't support you are not worth your time.
The harsh reality is that fake people will not support you. People who act like they are your friends but then when it comes down to you making something of yourself or dreaming big, they are not there. They don't believe in you or support you and that is down to jealousy. Real friends are excited for you and your accomplishments and are more than happy to do anything along the way to help you achieve your dreams because YOU matter to them and that is what friends do for each other.
Do not waste 2017 on people who do not treat you with the same kindness that you treat them. Life is far too short to waste on the wrong people.
Work on yourself for yourself.
A real important one is to focus on you for you. Whatever journey you are on, you made that decision yourself and it is yours to take at your own pace and in your own way. We are all completely unique in our own way and one persons journey will never be the exact same as your own so never compare it or use it as competition or a threat.
Within the fitness industry I believe it is so important to support and congratulate people on their achievements because it is not easy. It requires a lot of sacrifice, commitment, self-discipline, time management, patience and so on.
I have found during my fitness journey that many people do not understand why I have chosen a way of life where I am in active wear 90% of the time, why I write blogs, why I post pictures of food, why I put my workouts before social outings etc. I do it all because it's my process of recovery, it is how I have overcome my eating disorder by giving myself something to look back on, something to keep track of and read over and over again to remind myself of how strong I am and how far I have come. However, I have accepted that people do not have to understand this and maybe they never will, but that's okay because this is my personal journey and I understand it and I love it.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
This phrase is so powerful and can really help shape the world if more individuals take it on board. I advise everyone reading this to do things in 2017 that make their world a better place to live in.
I do a number of things throughout my life that to make it that little bit better for myself such as, not buying in to or contributing to the production of the meat industry, fur industry and products tested on animals. I regularly sign petitions and campaigns that I believe in mainly through the site linked below.
I am also still working on becoming an example of how good life can be when you choose to live and to stop listening to nasty broadcasts on social media, TV, adverts etc that tell you how you should look and how you should be. One by one, by helping and educating others, we can all make a difference.
Finally the most important lesson to bring forward into the new year is self love. Loving yourself is not selfish, it is an act of accepting yourself and embracing who you are. I believe that with the confidence that comes with self love, you can achieve whatever you set out to do because you physically believe in yourself and know who you are and what you are capable of.
I hope 2017 is a year of happiness, health and success for each and every one of you.
Until next time,
